Board members present were Mayor Hugh Hardgrave; Aldermen: Mike Ray, Rick Edgerton, Dale Teague, Lorie Robertson, Benny Hunter, attorney John Verkamp, and Recorder Shelly Hockaday.
Jeff Price was absent. Visitors present were Butch Maness, Nola Hunter, Rusty Wilson, Gerald Schaefer, Ken VanDusen, and Steve Helms. The meeting was called to order at 7 p.m. Steve Helms led the Pledge of Allegiance and Mayor Hugh Hardgrave led the prayer.
Following the approval of the December meeting minutes, the council members reviewed the report from the police department. The department answered 422 calls in December. Additionally, 16 traffic tickets, six criminal tickets, 21 warnings, three city ordinance tickets, and two city ordinance warnings were issued. There were eight arrests made in the month of December.
Council members reviewed the report from the fire department. The department responded to 28 first responder calls, three fire calls, and one accident.
After much discussion, a motion was passed to add a $50 administrative fee to any sanitation charges and a $100 administrative fee to any property clean ups that have to be certified with the County for collection. These fees will help offset the expense incurred by the City during the process.
The council voted to accept the resignation of Jeff Price ward 2 position 1 creating a vacant seat. His resignation leaves a vacancy on the council that the city is currently seeking to fill.

The council will select someone to fill the position at the February 11 meeting.
