The Best Care offers Foster Parent Class

If you are a foster parent, and want to learn more about caring for young children you may be interested in The Best Care. Sometimes it is difficult to find appropriate classes that are close to home and affordable. The University of Arkansas, Division of Agriculture, in partnership with the Division of Child Care and Early Childhood Association, is offering training for early childhood professionals. Classes are offered free of charge and is verified training through the Traveling Arkansas’ Professional Pathways (TAPP) and supports the Better Beginnings Program.

The Crawford/Scott/Sebastian County Cooperative Extension Service has available a new, free set of classes for early childhood professionals and others interested in learning more about young children. These classes are part of a program called The Best Care. Ten hours of lessons will be provided in a classroom setting.

Best Care in Crawford, Scott, & Sebastian counties proudly introduce the 2017 Best Care topics:

  • Two Bite Club
  • Grow It, Try It, Like It Pt 1-2
  • Active Play
  • Child Care Prepared: Disaster Preparedness
  • Classroom Transitions
  • Let’s Sing…Do, Re, Mi!
  • Celebrating Cultures: Activities and Resources for the Multicultural Classroom
  • Infant and Toddler Literacy; Effective Communication Skills

The Best Care is scheduled for Saturday, March 18th, from 8 am until 6 pm. Class will be held at the Crawford County Extension Office, 105 Pointer Trail West, Van Buren. Snacks will be provided. Participants should bring a sack lunch.
