The Golden Arrow Cheer Team has been working very hard, and their hard work is getting noticed. Lavaca has watched this team all year, whether on the sidelines or along the baseline, but what we don’t see is the hours of work that they put into perfecting their craft. On the sidelines and baselines, mid-field and mid-court, the Golden Arrow Cheer team are there to spark excitement and entertainment to the fans. In competition, however, this Arrow team has to bring perfect execution every time. This requires a multitude of hours, bruises, and scrapes. It requires a commitment and dedication that only a few are willing to give. This is an extremely competitive sport and yet by its very nature requires the utmost sportsmanship.
The past two years the team competed in the Game Day category, but have moved this year to the 1-3A Co-Ed Cheer division. The Arrows are looking to bring home the State Championship in this category. This past week the Golden Arrows competed at the Spa City Classic in Lake Hamilton Arkansas and did very well. Stay tuned for updates as the season progresses.
Coach Danielle Overton said “The Arrow Cheer team has been working incredibly hard this season. They are competing in a new division this year, and it has challenged them. I am very proud of the way every person on the team has stepped up to that challenge this year. They can only keep getting better from here. The competitions we have in December are always tough so we’ve been trying some new elements to add to our routine for the next two weeks.”
