An early morning accident left one woman dead and a man behind bars. According to the Arkansas State Police, the accident occurred at 6:05 a.m. on Friday, September 16.
Ruth Greene, 61 of Booneville, was traveling westbound on State Highway 10 when she was struck by Brandon Stone, 26, also of Booneville. Stone, who was traveling eastbound, reportedly crossed the center line and struck Greene’s 2016 Jeep Wrangler, causing her to leave the roadway and overturn. Stone, who was driving a 1998 Ford Explorer, fled on foot from the scene of that accident.
Later, Stone was later located at his home. He has been charged with driving while licensed canceled/suspended/revoked, careless driving – failure to maintain control, and leaving the scene of an accident – injury.
