On Tuesday, May 10 the voters of Scott County weighed in on who should serve next on the Waldron School Board. With a vote of 67 to 22, Stanley Cottrell was elected to fill the Zone 4 seat. He will serve a five-year term.
Cottrell has been a resident of Scott County for almost 20 years. He and his wife, Kayla, a Scott County native, have two children, Maeleigh and Hayes. Their children attend Waldron Elementary School and are both in the first grade. The family attends the Waldron First Church of the Nazarene and are actively involved with the church.
“My family and I would like to thank everyone for their support in the Waldron School Board election,” shared Cottrell. “…I appreciate everyone that took the time out of their busy lives to get out and vote for me. I hope to represent you all and the Waldron School District in a positive way and continue to move the district forward. I would also like to thank the Scott County Clerk’s Office and the Scott County Election Commission for their hard work putting the election on. Cottrell took the oath of office, on Thursday, May 11, administered by Scott County Clerk Tracy McPherson.
