From The Heart Of A Local Pastor
Do You Have The Fruits of God’s Spirit?

When someone opens their heart to God for salvation, they receive the finished work that was done for us at the cross. When Jesus gave his life for each one of us, he gave us hope of eternal life if we will dedicate our life to living for him, as well as believing in him. But wait, this is not all we receive. Upon salvation, we receive someone called The Holy spirit (John 14:26). The Holy spirit is one part of The Triune Godhead (1 John 5:7-8) , Who God our Father sends us to comfort, convict, and help us in our everyday life!

Anytime you feel that still small voice in your head saying “Don’t do that!” Or “This doesn’t seem right” or even when you are feeling the need of salvation, you are experiencing the works of The Holy Spirit. He was sent here to dwell in our heart, help us when we need encouraged, and comfort us when we need peace.
But with receiving God’s Holy spirit, also with him comes the Fruits of God’s Holy Spirit. Fruits meaning his characteristics and attributes. Galatians 5:22-23 shares with us what those fruits are.

Galatians 5:22-23 King James Version (KJV) 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Something important to remember, every Follower of Christ has The Holy spirit within them. So every follower of Christ should show and exemplify His fruits. Which arises the question, do YOU exemplify the fruits of The Holy Spirit?

1. Love: This fruit refers to the selfless, God type of love. Unconditional love for all people.
2. Joy: This fruit refers to a type of joy that is not bound by circumstances.
3. Peace: This fruit refers to the inner calm and contentment of knowing a person is in right standing with the Father and has salvation.
4. Longsuffering: Means endurance/perseverance in all situations of life.
5. Gentleness: This involves true and active consideration for others.
6. Goodness: This is a trait that causes someone to have a desire to do what is right.
7. Faith: This refers to an unwavering loyalty to God.
8. Meekness: This refers to showing friendliness and patience to all people.
9. Temperance: This is the discipline of mastering one’s own desires, emotions, and anger.

A Christian should do their best to always exemplify these fruits; so, a lost and dying world can see God through us!

God bless you!

A little about Pastor Konnor McKay

Pastor Konnor McKay is a young man that has lived his whole life in Waldron. However, do not let his age persuade you to think his wisdom is inadequate with his calling in ministry. At twenty-two years old, Pastor Konnor McKay has already made national headlines for standing up for Jesus nationwide! This past summer in July, his name was mentioned in Fox-News Headlines, radio stations, and other news broadcasts for being the Pastor under fire for sharing a great word at a high school football camp with area players from several surrounding schools in June; however, his heart to share the gospel of Jesus Christ has won over hundreds in his hometown of Waldron as he continually shares the gospel and love of Christ with those he comes encountered with.

At the age of fifteen, Pastor Konnor was called into ministry and for the past seven years, he has devoted his life to the ministry through evangelism and the calling of God.  He is licensed with the Arkansas District Pentecostal Church of God.  He is currently one semester away from being an ordained minister with the Pentecostal Church of God, as well.  He is the lead pastor at Waldron Pentecostal Church of God where has served as Pastor for two years.  Pastor Konnor McKay is engaged to Jasmine Manning whom he plans to marry this summer in July.

When we asked Pastor McKay why he felt called into ministry, he replied,”God has placed a TRUE love for people in my heart. I just love people and to think that I have an opportunity to share the gospel with any single person and that might impact their eternal life, is such a wonderful thought. I just want to share hope to hopeless people. I have dedicated my life to see the Devil fail at any attempt of attack he places on the people God loves.”

Service times at Waldron Pentecostal Church of God are Sunday Morning Worship (Ministries for all ages) at 10:30 a.m. and Sunday Evening at 5:00 p.m. They hold a midweek service with ministry for all ages including children and adults at 6:30 p.m.
