On Friday, March 20, Greenwood Police Chief William Dawson appealed to his neighbors…seeking out those who were in need. Dawson offered his time, and service to those who are homebound.
“If any of our elderly do not have someone to shop for them, message me,” Dawson stated. “I will come by and get your list.”
Noteably, Dawson’s selfless offer was heartfelt. The citizens of Greenwood responded with gratious hearts. “What an awesome service,” responded Gaylene Spears. “The seniors will appreciate your help!”
Since the recommendation by the CDC, Centers for Disease Control, store shelves have become barren, food staples and other household necessities have become difficult to find. The hardship has proven especially burdonsome for seniors, who may not have the means to shop multiple stores to locate the items they need.
Dawson went on to challenge others to be good neighbors. “Please check on your neighbors if they are elderly and don’t get a lot of company. Let’s take care of our seniors.”
