The Hackett Helping Hands campaign concluded the week of Christmas, with toys and food being delivered in, and around the Hackett Community.
The campaign began on November 1st, and consisted in donation jars being placed throughout the community, as well as a toy/food drive at the Hackett Dollar General. “Through the generous donations of our citizens, I’m proud to announce that this year’s donations exceeded last year” stated Hackett Police Chief, Darrell Spells.
This year over $3,000 was raised to help carry kids shopping, as well as provide toy/food baskets for families in the community. This year’s campaign helped over 80 children including 25 children at local daycares.
The Hackett Police Department wishes to thank all those who donated monetarily or through food or toy donations.
“The people in Hackett go above and beyond in making sure these kids are taken care of. To see the campaign grow this much in one year is a true testament to their giving spirit” added Chief Spells.
Editors Note: We’d like to personally thank Chief Spells, and Officers Hartsfield, and Hall for their commitment to protecting our community, and serving as role models for our youth. Thank you!
