Senior Hackett Hornet, Matthew Anderson signed with Lyon College yesterday in front of family, friends, coaches, and a lively crowd in the Hackett Basketball Gym. All proud, and offering their individual congratulatory screams, yells, and hugs. It was a prideful moment for Anderson, his coaches, those in attendance, and for the Hackett Athletic program
Coach, Lonnie Hester took center stage, explaining Anderson’s work ethic, on and off the field, in his community, and in his school work, “If you want to play ball on Saturday’s, follow what Matthew has done. Prepare, put in the work, and the rewards will follow” stated Hester to the Hornet Crowd.
Matthew is a 3-year starter at Center for the Hackett Hornets earning All District, and All State Honors for the 10-2, 2016 Hornets. He is currently 2nd in his class.
Lyon College is located in Batesville, Arkansas, and in their 2nd year football program, Anderson was recruited to play Center for the Scots. With their high academic standards, Anderson will feel at home, and plans on majoring in Math.
Coach Hester added, “We will miss Matthew, but look forward to his success as a Lyon Scot.”
We’d like to congratulate Matthew, his family, and Hackett Schools on this prestigious event. CONGRATS!
