The Waldron Jr High Bulldogs are pushing forward in the 3A-1 West Jr High District Tournament. In Round 1 on Monday, February 10, the #2 seeded Jr Dogs took on the #7 seeded Greenland Pirates and in true Bulldog dominance they took the victory 50-22. “I’m really proud of all the guys for being focused on winning a championship this week,” exclaimed coach, Josh Atchley. “I wouldn’t bet against these dudes for nothing!”
Lidge Stinson led the Bulldog pack in points with 17 along with three rebounds, and one assist. Trevor Hunt claimed 12 points, four rebounds, four assists, and five steals. Trenton Hunt finished with a double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds as well as three steals and three assists. Forrest Efurd grabbed three points. Petey Justice netted two points and four rebounds. Peyton Lipham obtained two points, one rebound, two steals, and one assist. Jon Jon Valdez picked up two points. Ethan Mayberry, Scout Young, and Jose Cardenas earned one rebound each. Jacob Daggs acquired one rebound and one steal. Chris Lopez scored four steals. And Kason Davis snagged five rebounds.
The (22-4) Jr Bulldogs will now be playing in the semi-finals on Thursday, February, 13 at 7:45 p.m. in Lincoln against the #3 seeded West Fork Tigers.
