When it came to facing Greenland this past Tuesday night, “The junior Lady Tigers had an unenthusiastic first half of the game. We went through the motions and it ended with a 10-5 score going into halftime,” explained coach, Joshua Bryan. “After the halftime talk, the Lady Tigers came out with the same fire we’ve seen all season outscoring Greenland 23-13 in the third quarter. The unselfish play of our girls helped propel the Lady Tigers past the Lady Pirates in their decisive 33-16 victory.”
Alyson Edwards led the Lady Tigers in scoring with 11 points followed by Brooklyn Adams with eight, Natalie Allison with seven, Harlie Fuller with four, and Seven Sanderson with three. The Jr squad also finished with 15 total rebounds, seven blocks, 13 assists, and 15 steals with Kynslee Ward leading with five of those steals along with three assists. “I’m am also very pleased with how well our bench players produced. It’s always a great feeling to have as a coach when you have depth at every position.”
In their final game before Districts, the Jr Lady Tigers will go head-on with the West Fork Lady Tigers on Friday, February 7 starting at 4 p.m at home. The first round of District play will be on Monday, February 10 in Lincoln.
