On Thursday, January 9th, Lavaca’s Jr High purple rain fell rather intensely into the red sea of the Mansfield Jr High Tigers. It was nonstop action from beginning to end and although the Tigers fell 34-25, it wasn’t due to a lack of trying. Tiger Peyton Martin jumped right into the mix of things hitting the court hard ready to attack. And that’s just what he did as he led his team offensively with ten points. Clint Stovall and Austin Quinalty owned the backboards with four points each while also keeping pressure on every purple shirt they faced.
Tyler Turnipseed was an offensive guru as well, putting three points on the board. And with two points each, Greyson Baggett and Darton Hoopengarner made sure that Lavaca knew their names as they danced circles around the Arrows. With no time to rest, the Jr High Tigers will take on the Pirates at Greenland on Friday, January 10 starting at 4 p.m.
