Lady Bulldogs Full Steam Ahead

Although the Waldron Lady Bulldogs didn’t get the win last Friday night when the played Charleston, they did get something else. Respect. The Lady Bulldogs were battling the Lady Tigers for the number one spot in conference play. And though they took a 3-2 loss, Waldron showed through their play, why they were the ones vying for number one.

Mackinzie Callahan and Ashtyn Moore were the two Lady Bulldogs that brought in the two runs for Waldron. Mackinzie also earned one hit, one steal, and one putout. Kadance Espinoza got one runner batted in and six putouts. Rheagan Sanford made two hits, one RBI, one steal, three putouts, and four assists.

Whitney Richmond got one steal and four putouts. Bayleigh Lipham snagged three putouts. Saige Mahar got one putout and four assists. Taylor Stacy grabbed two putouts. Jayden Manning earned one assist. And pitcher Ashton Young threw out 93 pitches to 27 batters striking out one. She also made one hit and one putout.

Coach Bailey Moore had this to say about the Lady Bulldogs and Lady Tigers match-up, “We lost a tough one to Charleston. As hard as the loss is to swallow, I am so proud of the support we had. It was a rough game but we are far from the end. Don’t count us out yet!” The Waldron Lady Bulldogs will be doing a little non-conference two-stepping with the 5-12 Ozark Lady Hillbillies tonight, April 15 in Ozark at 4:30 p.m.
