The Waldron Lady Bulldogs went into last nights game against the Alma Lady Airedales hoping for a new ending outcome. The Lady Bulldogs have fallen short the last few years they have faced Alma and unfortunately, last night was no different. Waldron still battled with the same ferocity that they bring to every game but in the end, the Lady Airedales just weren’t letting up.

The Lady Bulldogs held Alma to four straight innings of zero runs. Waldron slid into home plate in the third inning securing one run. Alma must have just needed to warm up because out of nowhere by the fifth and sixth inning, the Lady Airedales knocked out seven runs. With Waldron unable to catch up, the game ended 7-2 Alma.

Senior Mackinzie Callahan put up two hits, one run, and one stolen base for Waldron. Snagging the second run for the Lady Bulldogs was Kelsey Yother also stealing a base. Bayleigh Lipham led her team in the fielding division with eight putouts while Ashtyn Moore, Whitney Richmond, and Mackinzie each contributed two.

Saige Mahar and Rheagan Sanford were team players coming in with five and three assists respectively. Sophomore pitcher Ashton Young threw a great game with 118 pitches to 32 batters striking out two of them. The Waldron Lady Bulldogs will head into tonight’s game with an 8-4 total play record.

Staying home for this evenings conference game against rivals the 4-8 Mansfield Lady Tigers, the Lady Bulldogs are showing no signs of letting anyone come into their home and beat them. Waldrons last two home games ended with the Lady Bulldogs winning with a combined score total of 25-5. The game will start at 4:30 p.m.
