When the 5-0 Hackett Lady Hornets were scheduled to play the 4-1 Waldron Lady Bulldogs on Monday, September 16, fans knew there would be nothing easy about this match-up. The Lady Hornets were flyin’ high in their season with an overall record of 11-2-1 and after a hard-pressed in your face exhausting volleyball match against Waldron, that record was upgraded to 12-2-1.
The Lady Hornets held on to each set with a firm grip and walked away with all three wins. With scorecards reading 25-18, 25-11, 25-17, the Lady Bulldogs didn’t just lay down and give victory to Hackett. The Lady Hornets had to swoop, slam, and swat the Lady Bulldogs until their task was achieved.
The Hackett Lady Hornets are the true definition of teamwork always supporting one another and guiding each other through any problem areas that might occur. In true fashion, the Lady Hornets banded together and got the job done. Ending the night in the stats department was Rain Vaughn with nine kills. Madeline Freeman with one ace, two digs, and eight kills. Kenadi Wright bagging six kills and three blocks.
Shayla Foster conquering one ace, three digs, and six kills. Kandace Byrd netting four kills, two aces, and six digs. Jamye Durham securing three kills and one block. Brooke Holt with one ace. Madi Taylor snagging one kill. And Kayla Richardson sealing the deal on two kills, one ace, and 17 blocks.
