Since moving to 2A volleyball play from 3A, the Mansfield Jr High and Sr High Lady Tiger squads have done nothing but crush records and opponents. “I am so proud of these girls,” exclaimed head coach Kaylie Pyles. “Mansfield Volleyball was rewarded Thursday night for all of their hard work this season. Both teams accomplished something that has not been done in 6 years!”
After winning against the Lavaca Lady Arrows on Thursday night, the Jr High Lady Tigers finished the season undefeated with a 15-0 record and were named the 2A West District and Conference Champions. Left laying on the path of the Lady Tigers 2A West destruction were teams from Lavaca, Life Way Christian, Thaden, Decatur, Eureka Springs, Mulberry, and Ozark Catholic Academy.
The Sr Lady Tigers also remain undefeated and will be going into the State Tournament with a season record of 17-0 and 14-0 in conference play. They have also been crowned the 2A West District and Conference Champions. “We will play the first round of State on Tuesday, October 27th at 9:00 am at Cutter Morning Star in Hot Springs.” Mansfield will be going into State as the #1 seed and will be facing the #4 seed from the 2A East division.
“There is still one more accomplishment we want and that is a state title!
It’s a great day to be a Lady Tiger and I am so beyond blessed to have the opportunity to coach these girls! We are not finished yet, let’s go MAKE HISTORY!”
