Mansfield Middle School in conjunction with Career Development Day, brought in a former student of Mrs. Lori Lamb, Kimberly Rogers, to examine the world of Herpetology. Students were able to witness a cobra being milked for its venom as well as hear the rattleĀ of a rattlesnake. The students, of course, did not get to witness with live touch but were able to witness it through a protected glass that housed the venomous snakes. The non-venomous reptiles were handled first hand with a Burmese Python which is pictured with multipleĀ students in the photos below as well as an 18-foot Reticulated Python. Students also learned the different degrees to pursue and how to work toward attaining a herpetology degree.
