The Mansfield Chamber of Commerce met on Thursday, February 6 at noon. Newly appointed President, Sheri Hopkins, oversaw the meeting.
Also present, Vice-President Becky Walker, Treasurer Rick McDaniel, and Secretary Tammy Teague. Over 10 individuals and businesses were announced as new members. Those included: Beverly Lyons, Mayor Buddy Black, River Valley Feed, 71 Express, Chambers Bank, Today’s Bank, Boyd Rental Properties, West Fraser, Margaret Mergan and Tammy Oxford.
“It’s a really good start,” stated McDaniel, who has worked diligently with Hopkins handing out applications for membership.
Hopkins shared that the Chamber’s main goal is to be able to have a nice Fourth of July fireworks show, and Christmas parade. The Chamber of Commerce is also planning events throughout the upcoming months.
On Saturday, February 15, from 5-7 p.m., the Chamber will be hosting a Valentine’s Day spaghetti dinner at the Mansfield Senior Center. The meal includes salad, breadstick, drink and dessert for $5. Entertainment will also be provided by Just Us.
Other planned events include an Easter Egg Hunt, 5K race, and of course the annual Fourth of July fireworks show.
