Obituary: Brenda Lee Speer (1970-2026)

Brenda Leigh Speer, 55, of Jenny Lind, Arkansas passed away Sunday, February 15, 2026 in Fayetteville, Arkansas surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 21, 1970 in Saint Petersburg, Florida to loving parents, John Alfred and Marlene Bobbye Beecher. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

Brenda lived a life rooted in faith and in service of others. Her smile could bring light to the darkest of days. She believed in living life to the fullest and never found anything she couldn’t do. 

Aside from her family, being a firefighter and first responder was her true passion. She had been with the White Bluff-Rye Hill Fire Department for two years, where she would always heed the call. 

Brenda’s compassion, kindness, and strength left a lasting impression on anyone that knew her. She will always be remembered for the joy and light that she brought into the world. 

She is survived by her mother, Marlene Bobbye Beecher; her adoring husband, David Speer; two loving daughters, Keryn and Genni Higginbotham; two loving sons, J.D Speer and Sam Speer and wife, Megan; three brothers, Dave Bograd, Bill Beecher and Blaine Beecher; three sisters, Chaya Phillips, Sharon Brasko and Shirley Gorman; nine doting grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and an adopted daughter, Misty Breeden. 

A celebration of life will be held 10 a.m., Wednesday, February 25 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with Pastor Kirby Vaughn officiating. 

Honorary pallbearers are Lori Garvin, Tammy Edwards, the White Bluff-Rye Hill Fire Department and her Sister Queens.
