Paige Cupit, who recently resigned her position on the Waldron City Council, is now facing four counts of theft of property.
On January 25, Cupit’s employer, Dalton’s Place, contacted the Waldron Police Department. Detective Horatio Gonzalez said, “when asked for the books, she notified them that things weren’t going to add up.” When Gonzalez
Cupit was forthcoming in admitting the theft, and she and her spouse did return the amount which had been stolen. However, Dalton’s Place returned the monies, and chose to go through the courts for restitution.
Dalton’s Place terminated Cupit, and refunded the monies taken from the trust accounts of the residents.
The case has been handed over to the prosecutor. The four counts of theft of property are all misdemeanor charges.
