WOWZA!! After going 23-10 in last year’s basketball season setting a school record and making it to State, the Waldron Sr High Bulldogs are saying “please sir, may I have anotha?” Coming off of their sixth win in a row after last night’s battle against the Lincoln Wolves, the Bulldogs now sit 21-4 in total season play. Beating the Wolves 86-65, the Bulldogs upgraded their conference play record to 10-1.

“We have to stay humble and hungry and continue to work toward our goals and show up each day and get better,” explained coach, Joshua Brown. The Bulldogs picked up 12 steals in the game with Payton Brown leading with three as well as 44 total rebounds with Jacob Avila leading offensively with six and Braden Willimas leading defensively with six. Brown led in scoring with 46 points followed by Gada Wagner with nine, Isaac “The Real” Villarreal with eight, Bryson Bailey with five, Avila, Williams, Mason Ford, and Camdon Holcomb with four apiece, and Jaden Hutchens with two.

As it stands right now, the Bulldogs are the number two seed in their conference division under the undefeated (10-0) Charleston Tigers. This Friday, Waldron will host the Charleston Tigers in one of the biggest games of the season. A win Friday night would place the Bulldogs tied for first in conference play with Charleston. Waldron holds their only conference loss to the Tigers so this time it’s personal. “We have to play better defensively this time around and make sure we do a great job of contesting shots and not giving up second-chance opportunities.”

The Bulldogs are inviting all fans to show up and “Pack The WAC” this Friday, February 7 as Waldron prepares to destroy the Tigers. Friday is also Eddie Night in memory of Eddie Harrison so fans are being asked to wear green.
