LAREDO, Texas – University of Arkansas – Fort Smith Men’s Golf started the spring portion of its schedule with a second-place finish at the Jack Brown Memorial Tuesday at Laredo Country Club.
Three players – Alex Bloxham, Jeremy Tandoy and Chandler Cooke – all earned top-five finishes as each carded two-round scores of 150 (+6).
Bloxham led the Lions with a 75 (+3) in each round, totaling four birdies and 22 pars. Tandoy and Cooke each bounced back from round one 78s with even par 72 in round two. Tandoy had four birdies in his second round and Cooke three.
Andrew Fakult placed 19th with a 158 (+14), carding four birdies over his two rounds. Sam Sewell finished 27th with a 161 (+17), which included 16 pars in a round two 75.
Lucky Boonsrirat placed 30th with a 162 (+18) competing as an individual, totaling four birdies in round two.
The Lions cut off 15 strokes from round one to round two, shooting a 294 (+6) Tuesday to finish with a 603 (+27), just three strokes off the lead.
Next up for the Lions is the Houston Classic Feb. 12-13 at the Golf Club of Houston.
