Tomorrow is going to be a day filled with exciting games and tons of school spirit. Mansfield and Cedarville are going to be splitting Saturdays 7th-grade Jamboree. The boys will be playing in Cedarville while the girls will be at Mansfield.
At 9 am the Tigers boys’ team will play Cedarville. Then at 9:45, the Bulldogs will take on the Tigers. Playing in the last game of the day at 10:30 will be the Bulldogs and the Pirates. Head Coach for the 7th grade Tigers, Keith Dake said, “Waldron and Cedarville are both tough physical opponents that pride themselves on intense man to man defense. Both teams will look to challenge our physical and mental toughness and should provide some great games to compete in on Saturday.
Playing in Mansfield will be the girls’ teams. Starting the Jamboree off at 9 am is Mansfield vs Cedarville. At 9:45, the Pirates will battle the Bulldogs. To end the day will be Waldron and Mansfield at 10:30 am. “I’m excited to see the progress the 7th graders have made since our last game. They have been working extremely hard in practice,” says Head Coach for the 7th grade Lady Bulldogs Hannah Scantling.
The Lady Tigers Head Coach Joshua Bryan said of his 7th graders, “The biggest challenge from Waldron is their aggressiveness. As they have shown from 7th grade-senior high, they are very aggressive attacking the basket and getting rebounds. Our girls must be ready for a fight in the paint and not shy away from contact.” When asked how he felt his girls would do against Cedarville, Coach Bryan says, “The biggest challenges playing Cedarville is their quickness. Coach Raqulin does a good job teaching his girls how to push the ball up the floor so the challenge will be getting back and keep them from transition scoring.”
