William Owens (1938 – 2017)

William Owens of Waldron, Arkansas, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Monday, October 9, 2017 in a Little Rock Hospital. William was born October 16, 1938 to Victor Owens and Norma (Hunt) Owens in Dutch Creek, Arkansas. William was 78 years, 11 months and 23 days old. He was a member of the Waldron Pentecostal Church of God.

William worked in the construction business for many years as a bridge builder. While working in construction he was also a farmer, loved putting out his garden every year, and hunting. He loved deer hunting season and being in the outdoors. Most of all, William love spending time with his family.

William leaves behind to cherish his memory, one daughter, Vicki Watkins and husband Randy, one son, Ricky Owens and wife Debbie all of Waldron, Arkansas. Papa will forever be missed by his grandsons: Shannon Rogers, Dustin Owens and Zac O’Hagen, and one great grandson, Dawson Owens. William will remain in the heart of his sister, Sue Wagner of Arkadelphia. William will be missed by all that knew him and the many whose lives were impacted by him, including many nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and loved ones.

William is preceded in death by his wife, Glenda “Tootsie” Owens, parents, Victor and Norma Owens, three sisters, Margie Jones, Athia Lee Jones, Marcel Black, two brothers, Leon Owens, and Donald Lee Owens.

William’s life celebration will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 12, 2017 at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Waldron, Arkansas with Rev. Rickey Hunt, officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Hill Cemetery in Union Hill, Arkansas. Arrangements are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas.

Willliam”s pallbearers will be William Bates, Clay Woodall, Mike Owens, Eric Parsons, Myrtie Owens, Jesse Oldaker.

William’s visitation will be Tuesday, October 11, 2017, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas.
