The City of Waldron hosted an all-day, fun-filled Winter Wonderland Festival on Saturday, December 7, and closed out the day with the town’s annual parade.
Seasonal festivities included games, food, a visit with Santa and a trip on the Polar Express.
Mayor David Millard, School Resource Officer Gary Clepper and Resident Press Editor Tammy Teague were on hand to judge the chili cookoff contest.
Merchants such as Arvest Bank, child advocacy group, CASA, Scott County Boys and Girls Club and the Waldron School District all participated in the Winter Wonderland.
Then, as dark fell, the parade kicked off skyward with a fireworks display. Participating in the line up were floats, emergency vehicles, marching band, royalty and much more! In fact, parade goers stated that they felt this was the best showing they’d ever seen!
The success is credited to the hard work of city employees like Brandon Nelson, Regina Oliver, LaVada Allen, and of course City Clerk/Treasurer Sherry Johnston and Mayor Millard.
