Mrs. Holland has been teaching her fourth grade students at Mansfield Elementary about different types of energy.
First, they learned about solar energy. To experiment with this concept the students made solar ovens. After measuring the rising temperature of water for 20 minutes, the students cooked smores in the ovens.
Next, the students learned about electrical energy. The students learned how to build a circuit. Their project was to create some type of room and include a circuit with a light bulb. Many students even added a switch. They created living rooms, game rooms, bedrooms, and even a barn and a church.
Mrs. Holland stated, “My students are very creative, and they think learning is fun!”
