Local volunteer fire departments are currently facing harsh conditions in the area due to less than average rainfall this Fall. Sebastian County was placed under a burn ban on 11-15-2016.
Units responded to a grass fire in the 8000 block of Amity Lane on Friday November 11, 2016 prior to the burn ban as well as a structure fire on Highway 45 on Monday morning.
Hackett, EMP, and White Bluff Fire Departments also responded to a grass fire on Bethel Road today (11-16-2016). The dry conditions make it very easy for fires to get out of control very quickly.
Burning under a county issued burn ban could result in a citation.
