Henry Bell Thompson of Parks, Arkansas passed from this life Friday evening in a Waldron nursing home surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 12, 1937 in Parks, Arkansas to Claud and Lue (Hawkins) Thompson. He was 79 years, 1 month, and 1 day old.
Henry Bell married the love of his life, Joyce in 1962. Together they raised their family and worked hard to make a happy and loving life together. Henry Bell was quite a character. He enjoyed sitting and telling old stories and visiting with anyone he knew, and some he didn’t.. He loved reminiscing about the “good old days”. He was a man of God and led by example. Henry Bell was a member the the Keener Freewill Baptist Church. He worked on road construction for the Arkansas Forrest Service for many years. He also run Fred’s Truck Stop for 5 or 6 years and he had a hand in the logging business. As busy as Henry was working hard, he remained focused on why he was doing what he did and that was his precious family. Henry was a loving and devoted family man. He was proud of his children and he was a very proud Papa. He enjoyed spending time with his family making forever memories. Henry Bell was a member of Waldron Masonic Lodge #132 F&AM.
Henry Bell leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 54 years Joyce Thompson; one daughter Lucinda Wagner, one son, Chris and wife Paula Thompson. Papa will be remembered by his four grandchildren, Claude and wife Amanda Thompson, Josie Thompson and wife, C.J., Kinnley Wagner and Janie Rhyne. Papa Henry will also be remembered by his six great grandchildren, Nicholas, Colton and BoJesse Thompson, Samuel Nobles, Adilynn Thompson and Delilah Edgar.
Henry Bell was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Jance Kinnley Thompson, one daughter, Lana Vell Thompson, three brothers, Bob, Connie, and Mike Thompson.
Henry Bell’s life celebration will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at the Keener Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Pat Ray Biggs officiating. Interment will be in the Hawkins Cemetery in Parks, Arkansas. Arrangements are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas.
Henry Bell’s pallbearers will be Gary House, Jody Curtis, Bob Ammons, Bernise Rogers, Bob Lovett and Mark Isham.
Henry Bell’s visitation will be Monday, January 16, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory in Waldron, Arkansas.
