The County Line Indians made their way into Hackett territory to take on the Hornets for last nights basketball game. The Hornets and Lady Hornets came up short in both games and walked away empty handed. The Hornets ended their game 68-43 while the Lady Hornets final score read 59-45.

The Hackett Hornet boys team were put on notice early by the Indians near-perfect shooting skills and that notice was continued throughout the game. The Hornets had a few good scoring runs against County Line but could not catch up. Avery Hester led the Hornets with 12 points and Dylan Kats, Ty Smith, and Zach Bragg combined for 22 points. Anthony Collins, Christian Woods, Jack Terrell, and Luke Patterson hit a few key shots also. The loss puts the Hackett Boys at 4-8 in overall play and 1-2 in conference play.

The Hackett Lady Hornets played with intensity against County Line but could not overcome the quickness of the Indians. County Line seemed to have an answer for every move the Lady Hornets made on the court. The Lady Hornets were led by Kayla Richardson as she sunk 14 points against the Indians. Audrey Chaney scored 12 points while Faith Thomas, Taylor Glass, and Stephanie King combined for 19 points in the game. The Lady Hornets fell to 4-8 overall and 0-3 in conference.

The losses to County Line may have been hard to swallow, but the Hornets aren’t about to back down. There is a bunch of Basketball still to be played this season and the Hornets are perfecting their skills and learning from their mistakes.
