LAREDO, Texas – Sidney Stramel earned her fourth top 10 of the season Tuesday as she tied for ninth at the Jack Brown Memorial at Laredo Country Club.
After recording just a single birdie in round one, Stramel carded four in round two as she shot a 74 to finish with a 154 (+10).
Kenley McElyea tied for 17th with a 157 (+13), recording five birdies in her two rounds. Rachel Hicks shot a 161 (+17) to tie for 24th, while Simone Campise tied for 29th with a 163 (+19).
Marvelyn Kartika and Maddie Sanders rounded out the UAFS lineup with scores of 169 (+25) and 175 (+31) to finish 43rd and 48th, respectively.
The Lions tied for fifth with Angelo State with a 635 (+59), two shots behind fourth and four shots out of third. UAFS improved on its first-round 323 with a 312 in round two.
UAFS continues its schedule with the Southern Invite Feb. 19-20 at Cypress Wood Golf Club in Houston, Texas.
