The Lavaca Golden Arrow basketball team was the runner up in the Golden Arrow Classic. They played for the tournament championship that was named for and hosted by Lavaca High School. This was a tournament with large schools of high caliber basketball teams. The Arrows represented themselves and their school very well. They won their way into the championship game by beating Sallisaw and Providence Academy to get to Pea Ridge.
The Pea Ridge game was a battle between two equally matched powerhouses. Tonight Pea Ridge came away with the win. This game was back and forth all night. The lead alternating between these two teams but never by more than 6 points. Pea Ridge is a very solid 4A team and the Arrows have nothing to hang their hat about. Coach Reed told me that “The message was that ‘we got better tonight’. It was a hurting locker room but we played some big schools this week and we have progressed in every game. I’m proud of our guys, they played very hard.”
The Arrows will get some much deserved time off. They will next hit the hardwood on December 7th at Mountainburg to start Conference play. Game time will be 7:30
