An election to fill position three on the Mansfield School District will be held on Tuesday, May 18, 2021. Three candidates will be on the ballot, Trent Hayslip, Jan Carlton and Adam Hecox, who has since withdrawn his intent.

My name is Jan Carlton and I am interested in serving on the Mansfield School Board.
My husband Rick Carlton and I have three grown children; Tiffany Woolbright of Mansfield, Dr. Macy Jones of Little Rock, and Eric Carlton of Mansfield. We also have four grandsons.
I have lived in the school district for close to 50 years. As a parent and grandparent, I have been involved with the schools in many different ways volunteering with PTA, Little League, Athletic and Band booster clubs, Quiz bowl at the Middle School, and Speech competitions.
I have been in education for over 22 years:

- K – 12 Gifted and Talented (taught elementary classes as well as Junior and Senior High)
- Seventh and Eighth grade English and Social Studies
August 2001 – May 2020
Mansfield School District, Mansfield, Arkansas – Classroom teacher, G/T Coordinator, Personnel Policy Committee, and Foster Care Liaison.

I feel that my experiences as an educator can bring an added dimension to the school board. Mansfield Schools are doing great in meeting the challenges of the future of education. I truly want to serve the district in this capacity.
