HUNTINGTON, Ark. — The Huntington Police Department has received new computer equipment through the University of Arkansas System Criminal Justice Institute (CJI), providing additional technology resources to support the department’s daily operations.
In a letter dated June 17, 2026, Alicia D. Corder, Director of the Criminal Justice Institute, announced the donation on behalf of the organization. The letter states that the equipment is intended to assist officers and staff by making day-to-day work more efficient.
“Supporting rural law enforcement agencies across the state is important to us, and we know how much dependable technology matters in today’s policing environment,” Corder wrote.
The Criminal Justice Institute, which provides training, education and professional development opportunities for law enforcement agencies throughout Arkansas, said it hopes the equipment will have a positive impact on the department and its service to the community.
Corder also emphasized the institute’s commitment to assisting smaller agencies, noting that reliable technology is increasingly important for modern law enforcement operations.
The donation reflects ongoing efforts by the Criminal Justice Institute to support rural police departments across Arkansas by providing resources that help agencies better serve their communities.
The Huntington Police Department serves the City of Huntington in Sebastian County and works closely with neighboring agencies throughout western Arkansas. The newly donated equipment is expected to enhance administrative and operational capabilities within the department.
The Criminal Justice Institute is part of the University of Arkansas System and serves as a statewide resource for law enforcement training, certification and professional development.
