With a final winning score of 39-20 against Mountainburg, the Hackett Jr High Lady Hornets are sitting neck in neck in the wins and losses column of their season with a record of 3-3. So far, Hackett has taken on teams from Lavaca, Mansfield, Trinity, West Fork, Danville, and most recently Mountainburg on Tuesday night. Alex Bunch led with 10 points closely followed by Jessie Mendenhall with 9, Makenzie Freeman with 7, Aaliyah Escoffier with 6, and Alona Rothwell with 5. “The Jr Lady Hornets are getting better with every game. This was also a very new team and they have meshed well together! We will have a very tough test tonight against Dover and it will give us a real good idea about where we are as a team,” explained coach, Broc Adams.

The Jr Hornets also brought in a win against the Dragons with a final score of 32-25. Eli Slavens ended the game with 10 points, Cole Ketchum earned 9, Hayden Foster scored 5, and with 4 points apiece were Wyatt Hester and Dawsyn Clay. “We had another great night in the Hornet gymnasium,” stated coach, Kent Elmore. “The Jr. High Hornets beat Mountainburg in a great game. They are now 5-1 on the season and looking for more!” Tonight, the Jr Hornets and Lady Hornets will travel to Dover with the 7th grade starting things off at 4:30 pm.
