Hartford City Council Holds Special Meeting

On Monday, February 11, the Hartford City Council met in a special meeting to discuss issues within the water department.

In that meeting, the council voted to give Mayor Mary Radley the authority to enter into an agreement with Communities Unlimited. The organization’s mission is to “move rural and under-resourced communities in areas of persistent poverty to sustainable prosperity.”

The City of Hartford will utilize the organization to assist in obtaining financial help for the water department, and other areas.

Additionally, the council voted to hire a water clerk for three days a week. The position consists of a four hour work day, at $9.25 an hour. If you are interested, you can apply at city hall.

The regularly scheduled Hartford City Council meeting will be Tuesday, February 19 at p.m.
