Arkansas motorists have the opportunity to show their support for senior citizens while displaying an “In God We Trust” specialty license plate on their vehicles.
The specialty plate benefits home-delivered meal programs provided through Arkansas senior citizen centers. Of the additional $35 plate fee, $25 is designated exclusively for senior citizen centers to purchase food for home-delivered meals.
The plate is available for passenger cars as well as half-ton, three-quarter-ton and one-ton trucks used for private transportation. One-ton trucks used for commercial purposes must instead be registered with a commercial license based on gross loaded weight.
Motorists interested in obtaining the plate must complete the state’s Specialty Plate Request form. The plate allows up to four characters and may be personalized for an additional $25 fee.
Initial issuance and replacement of the “In God We Trust” plate are handled through the Specialty License Plate Office, while transfers are handled through Arkansas Revenue Offices.
In addition to giving motorists an opportunity to display the familiar national motto, the specialty plate provides financial support for programs that help deliver meals to senior citizens in communities across Arkansas.
The “In God We Trust” plate is classified by the state as a special-interest license plate.
