In the first Conference game of the season the Lady Bulldogs took care of business early and marched to a very convincing 77-42 win.

The Cyclones came into the game at 13-3 and looked poised to take on the defending State Champion Lady Bulldogs. The game was close in the opening few minutes, but Greenwood had a different plan as they took off and had a 45-16 lead at halftime. The Lady Bulldog defense held the Lady Cyclones from scoring a non-free throw basket in the 2nd period up until a minute left.

The Lady Bulldogs had plenty of highlights with Sophomore Izzy Smith making a leaping save to keep the ball from going out of bounds, she then topped that by getting four three-point baskets. She would go on to score 14 on the night. Brooklyn Woolsey also had a leaping save on the ball and added 8 points.

Junior Anna Trusty joined the 1000 point club in the Pink – White Tournament in Springfield, Mo over the Christmas Break and was honored before the Boys game for reaching that mark. She would be the Lady Bulldogs leading scorer with 21.

Tulsa commit Senior Madison Cartwright finished the night with 13 points

“Our kids played hard. We played a tough pre-conference schedule, which helps prepare us for conference. We do that every year.” Head Coach Clay Reeves said after the game. “We practiced four days in a row. We are glad to get back to conference were we have our regular routine playing two days a week.”

“I thought our kids played hard. Shot well. Got up and down the floor. Things worked out well for us.”

The Lady Bulldogs travel to Van Buren and take on the Lady Pointers on Tuesday.
