MHS Students Compete in Russellville Debate Tournament

The Thanksgiving break did not stop to members of the Mansfield high school Forensic/Debate/Drama team from competing in the Russellville Cyclone Forensic/Debate Tournament on Saturday, November 18.
Senior Olivia Boyd competed in storytelling with her performance of the children’s story, Pete the Cat and his Four Groovy Buttons by Eric Litwin. Boyd ranked seventh in her competitive round.
Freshman Kimber Campbell competed in congressional debate, a congressional style of presenting and arguing bills before a mock Congress. Campbell served as a voting representative and the first ground and as the presiding officer during the second round of competition.
Mansfield’s team competed against students from Bentonville, Cabot, Conway Fort Smith Southside, Har-Ber, Dardanelle and Little Rock McClellan schools.
The team will compete again December 9 at War Eagle Debate and Forensic tournament at Rogers Heritage High School
