Scott County Angel Tree

The Scott County Angel tree was invented by the Salvation Army, and Major Charles and Shirley White in 1979. Although there have been many Angel trees in the Scott County Courthouse, this specific tree has been around for 10 years.
Teresa Scantling, Scott Co. County Treasurer, has been helping since it’s beginning, and stated “It’s a wonderful program and a great way to help kids in our community.”
They also work with the Waldron Elementary school counselor, Joy Carmean who briefly told us that as the years go on, the angel tree is needed more and more, and provides a great service. The act of giving benefits both sides.
You may pick up your Angel until December 15th, which is also the deadline for the gifts to be returned. All gifts will be given to their angel on December 16th, from 1:00pm thru 4:00pm, at the Scott County Court House.
