On Saturday evening, September 14, Mansfield Patrol Officer Josh Huskey made a traffic stop on a speeding vehicle heading south from Huntington to Mansfield.
Huskey observed the male driver acting nervous, and inquired if he had anything illegal inside the vehicle. The suspect stated that
Upon searching Huskey identified 24 pint bottles of Promethazine with Codeine. One of those pint bottles had been opened, and poured into the 20 ounce bottles, which the driver was allegedly drinking.
Mansfield Police Chief Wayne Robb stated “he was getting high as he drove down the road.” According to Robb, the driver, who is from Springdale, AR, took ownership and was arrested for being in possession of a schedule II class drug.
“This is a drug that you can only have a small amount of with a prescription,” stated Robb.
According to him, the liquid can be used to make methamphetamine or be made into pill form. Depending on how it’s sold, it has a street value
The case is currently being investigated further by the Sebastian County Drug Task Force.
