It’s game day for the Golden Arrows! The Arrows will host the Westside Rebels in a non conference game today at 4:30. Last year, the Golden Arrows advanced to the State tournament and will be looking to go deep into the tournament this year. Coach Headley takes over the reigns this year and is hoping to build on the success that the team had last year. Coach had this to say about his team, “I am very excited to get started with this team. I have been impressed with the progress we have made in the preseason. Looking to lean on my seniors; Jimmy Hall, Trey Castor, Colby Clunn, Trevon Moore, Dylan Ellison, and Tyler Armistead to be good role models and provide leadership! These first couple of weeks are going to allow me to see some different combinations and mix the line up around to find what will make us most successful.”

The Lady Arrows will also take the diamond this afternoon. Coach Vire had a great season on the basketball court this year and will look to bring the same amount of success to the softball diamond. They also face JC Westside today at 4:30. Coach had this to say about his expectations for the season, “ I’m excited for the season to get started and excited to watch these girls compete this year. We are looking to build on what Coach Headley’s 2018 team accomplished last year. Our goal is to compete for a Conference, District, and Regional Championship, as well as making a run in the State Tournament. This first week of the season we will play a lot of games; Tuesday, Thursday and then we will see some good competition this weekend in the Clarksville Tournament. Our seniors; pitcher BethAnn May, first base Brooklyn O’Kelley, and outfielders Morgan Taylor and Shelby Kelley, will all play key roles in our success as a team. I’m ready to get the season started and see these girls get on the field to compete. I am excited see what we can accomplish as a team this season.”
