Waldron native Pam Houston felt ready to retire after 35 years of employment. After 11 short months into her retirement, the to-do list was depleted and she was no longer happy sitting on the couch watching television.
“I needed to get back to being healthy again,” Houston stated. “I needed to get up off the couch and get back in shape.”
Houston’s children own and operate several Herbal Life Nutrition clubs. She admits she loved her sweet tea, and this program appealed to her. “It’s something different and it is good for me and for the community,” added Houston.
Houston, her husband Danny, and her kids began working to remodel the location. Her daughter created the signage to complete the clean and contemporary look. Houston also spent time alongside her kids learning the nutrition program.
All the hard work and effort was about to pay off as Houston opened for business on Monday, October 12. “The community of Waldron has been good to me this week,” concluded Houston.
