The 28th Annual Hartford Gospel Music “Hills of Fame” Songfest is scheduled to begin at 6 pmon the evening of Mothers Day, May 13th, at Faith Chapel at 306 State Hwy. 45 in Hartford. Hartford is located 30 miles south of Fort Smith via Highway 45, and 20 miles east of Poteau via Oklahoma Highway 83.  308 State Hwy. 45.
The annual evening of inspirational gospel music commemorates the Hartford Music Co., first owned and operated there in Hartford. The Hartford Music Co. published such well-known songs as “I’ll Fly Away,” written by Albert E. Brumley, “Victory in Jesus,” written by E.M. Bartlett, and “Just a Rose Will Do,” written by J.A. McClung.  All three of these famous writers have been inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame, and all at some point were owners of the Hartford Music Co.
Special entertainers for the evening will be Mark 209, the only southern gospel quartet from Nashville.  The group relates Mark 209 to the Country Music Capital this way–“If you go to Nashville and you want to go to the Ryman Theatre or the Country Music Hall of Fame or the Southern Baptist Convention Home Office, you have to get off on exit 209. It is the hub for all of Nashville. So what better place to be from, than mile-marker 209. So that’s where we got the name.”
Outstanding local talent will also be featured.  Admission is FREE
