The Lavaca Golden Arrow baseball team traveled to JC Westside today after a tough loss yesterday to the Lamar Warriors. For the Arrows this game was an opportunity to get back on track to start conference play. Getting back on track is exactly what the did. The Arrows have struggled at the plate the past couple of games but today the Arrows hit the ball hard and created scoring opportunities every inning. The Arrows posted 11 runs on 8 hits. Westside also committed 5 errors in the game allowing the Arrows to capitalize. Jimmy Hall and Trey Castor each racked up multiple hits for Lavaca. Hall went 3-for-4 and Castor went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Lavaca. The Arrows got things started on the second pitch of the game when Jayger Wagner singled. This was the start of a four run inning.

Defensively, Jimmy Hall had all the right stuff on Thursday for Lavaca. Hall gave up only 4 hits in a complete game shutout, striking out 11. The Arrow defense was sure- handed behind their pitcher. They committed no errors in the game.

With strong pitching and hitting, the Arrows are definitely ready to make some noise in conference play as they look to defend their conference championship. Next up for the Arrows, will be Monday April 1st at home. They will be looking to play April fools on the Rattlers of Magazine.
