The #3 seeded Hackett Jr High Lady Hornets sent the Westside Rebels marching back home after they secured a 38-23 win in the second round of the Jr High District Tournament. Teonna Best led her team with 12 points and 9 steals followed by Kyleigh Hill with seven points, Tori Blanton with six, Alex Bunch with four, and Alona Rothwell and Aaliyah Escoffier with two each.

Coach, Broc Adams had this to say about the game. “We played really well defensively. We forced a bunch of turnovers early in the game but couldn’t convert those into points in the first half. We talked about it at halftime, made a couple of simple adjustments and the girls did a great job of finishing in the second half!”

The (16-5) Jr Lady Hornets will be back in Danville tonight for the semi-finals to take on the #2 seeded Lavaca Lady Golden Arrows at 4 p.m. Upon a victory tonight, Hackett would go on to face either Danville or Hector in the championship round.
