Lady Bulldogs Sorry Not Sorry

Grand Slam Thank You Mame! The Waldron Lady Bulldogs are UNDEFEATED 4-0 in conference play. One secret to the girls’ success is their drive.“I think that is what I respect most about this team,” says Coach Bailey Moore. “They don’t give up. If a team wants to beat them, they are going to have to show zero weakness because these girls will take anything they are given and make a run.”

“They respond well to pressure and keep a cool head when the game is on the line. Every time we fall short during a game, the girls work hard to work out the kinks and become better for their team.”

Starting out rusty in last night’s game against the Greenland Lady Pirates, Waldron dug deep and found a way to get the ball rolling and caught an 8-1 win. Rheagan Sanford was a force at the plate and went 4 for 4 using her speed to her advantage. Whitney Richmond has been a consistent weapon for the Lady Bulldogs and last night was no different. She went 3 for 3 at the plate with two runners batted in.

Rocking the Lady Pirates like a hurricane with a combined total of five hits were Bayleigh Lipham with one batted in, Saige Mahar, Taylor Stacy, and Jayden Manning. Like a runaway car, these Lady Bulldogs took off with no signs of stopping. Rheagan Sanford and Whitney Richmond made two runs each. While Bayleigh, Saige, Taylor, and Jayden secured one apiece.

Fighting on the frontline for field patrol was Bayleigh with seven putouts. Rheagan with six and two assists. Mackinzie Callahan with four. Kadance Espinoza with two. And Ashtyn Moore and Jayden Manning with one each.

Sophomore pitcher, Ashton Young, does an excellent job for the Lady Bulldogs on the mound. She threw out 97 pitches to 31 batters striking out six. “She works extremely hard and carries a heavy load. She pulls more than her weight for her team and I am so proud of her for that,” stats Coach Moore.

The Waldron Lady Bulldogs will face the Alma Lady Airedales in an away non-conference game on Thursday, March 28 at 4:30 p.m. “We face off with Alma every year and in the 3 years I have been at Waldron, we have yet to beat them. In fact, I can’t recall going a full game with them before falling to a run rule. They are always a very competitive team and I love the challenge that they give us. I am looking forward to letting our girls do what they do best and try to make a game out of this match-up!”
