The Mansfield Middle School in collaboration with the Mansfield High School East Lab program wanted to bring awareness for Breast Cancer Awareness.  The High School participated in a fundraising event, Powder Puff Football Game, with proceeds being raised for the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
The Middle School didn’t want to shy away from the challenge to bring awareness to Breast Cancer and hosted their own 8th Grade students versus Teacher Kickball game.  It appears that school is always in session at the Middle School as the teachers gave the students a kickball lesson with a 16-1 victory.
Student Coach Teacher Jan Carlton, alias Middle School History Teacher, couldn’t get the offense going for the students.  Mrs. Carlton and highly competitive 8th graders, competed to the very end, but were outmatched by their senior opponents.  The Middle School raised near $200.00 for the Susan G. Komen Foundation and will donate the money to the high school East Lab for Susan G. Komen.
FBLA members below helped put together the planning for the event in order to work toward their support for community service: Greyson Baggett, Natalie Allison, Kaitlin Peterson, Katelyn Salmeron, Seth Carter, Madelyn Jones, & Serenity Brunson
The real winner is the community of Mansfield for having such a tremendous young group of students at the Middle School.  These students will be a tremendous asset to the Mansfield Community and Society for a long period of time.

(Reference above image) The only injury was teachers that were very sore on Saturday and Kiara Thomas.  Kiara had extreme pain in her hand from keeping up with the teachers score.  Aaron Brewer often fell asleep keeping up with the 8th grade students kick ball score.
