Bart Lynn Starr, age 56, of Waldron, Arkansas, passed from this life on Sunday, July 5, 2026, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, surrounded by his loving family.
Bart was born on April 1, 1970, in Waldron, Arkansas, to Jimmy Joe Starr and Norma Sue (Nix) Starr. From the very beginning, Bart was deeply loved, and throughout his life, he gave that love right back to the people who meant the most to him.
Bart had a way of making life feel special in the simplest moments. He loved being outdoors, especially when he was hunting, and turkey hunting was his favorite of all. He enjoyed listening to music and could often be found with a song playing, simply taking in the moment. But more than anything, Bart loved his family. Family gatherings were his most treasured times, because being surrounded by the people he loved brought him his greatest happiness.
One of Bart’s most cherished joys was riding the buggy through the woods with his mom. Those rides were more than just time spent outdoors; they were moments filled with love, laughter, conversation, and a bond that words can hardly describe. Bart and his family shared a connection that was deep, strong, and irreplaceable. He meant the world to them, and the love they shared will forever remain a precious gift.
Left to cherish his memory is his son, Jarrod Starr and wife, Annaliese, of Waldron, Arkansas; his mother, Norma Starr of Waldron; and his three sisters, Sheila Brown and husband, Bang, of Greenwood, Arkansas; Karen Brown and husband, Mitchell, of Van Buren, Arkansas; and Sherry Strongburg and husband, Glenn, of Texas.
Bart is also survived by his adored nephews and nieces: Jimmy Russell, David Russell, Eric Brown, Mandy Johnson, Nikki Brennon, and Jamie Alexander; along with a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family, and many dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Joe Starr and his grandmother Beatrice Nix.
Bart leaves behind more than memories; he leaves behind love, laughter, stories, and moments that will be held close forever. His family will remember his heart, his smile, his love for the woods, his music, and the way he made them feel loved. Though his absence will be deeply felt, the bond Bart shared with his family can never be broken, and his love will continue to live on in each of them.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being entrusted to Heritage Memorial Funeral Home.
