MHS Cheerleaders Chosen as “All-Americans”

Mansfield High School cheerleaders Natalie Brewer, and Emily Parish have been chosen as “All Americans” by B2 Cheer Camp, where they were given the opportunity to cheer at the 2016 AutoZone Liberty Bowl in Memphis Tennessee, on Friday, December 30th, 2016.
Natalie commented that “making the All -American is a cool opportunity that I’ll never forget!”
Emily has setup a GoFundMe page in hopes of raising $2,500 by October 10th, 2016 to help with the expenses of the trip.
Her GoFundMe page has the following excerpt which portrays her desire to be able to afford this trip,
“I need to raise $2,500 by October 10, 2016 to reach the dead line to go. This trip is a once in a life time chance not only to create great memories, but also to be taught from Master choreographers and bring home routines to wow  the Mansfield Tigers. Its not everyday you get invited to cheer in front of 55,000 people! I would be extremely grateful for any donation!”

Let’s all help Emily make this opportunity a reality. Donate here: EMILY PARISH – GoFundMe Page

Congratulations Emily, and Natalie. GO TIGERS!

Ross says “Mansfield School District is Looking Good”

Mansfield School District has made some tough decisions over the last four to five years with the unknown financial obstacles that may or may not lie ahead. These decisions were made for the longevity of the school, and not just another quick fix.
We recently sat down with MSD Superintendent, Robert Ross who stated, ” Mansfield has seen it’s ups and downs, and with the decisions being made for the long term, we’re looking really good.”
Ross listed the improvements that are either currently in progress, or planned for this year:
Elementary School

  • Installation of a new awning & pavilion that covers the bus access
  • Paving of bus lane parking
  • Exercise room for students (State funded)

Welcome to Mansfield, Coach Bentley

When football fans start talking about the upcoming season, the word TRADITION gets thrown around, with both positive, and negative emotions. For Mansfield, that word hasn’t held much water where as complaints about scheduling, overall class rank/size, and at times, leadership have taken precedence.
Regardless of ones views, and opinions, the Tigers have needed to find some momentum, and that does start with leadership, backed by the school, and supported by the town.
The 2016 Mansfield School District, and Senior High Football has welcomed Coach Craig Bentley as the newly hired Head Football coach.
In his ninth year of coaching, Bentley comes to Mansfield from Mena, Arkansas where he was the Defensive Coordinator for the Bearcats. Before his five years at Mena, Bentley spent one year at Pea Ridge, and two years at Springdale. Aside from his football career, Bentley coached the Mena High School soccer team to a State Runner-up finish in 2015.

We believe in ourselves and we believe in the work we have put in and are going to put in. This town and community is ready for Mansfield Tiger football to get back to where it needs to be and we will do everything humanly possibly to get it there.”

Hurt’s Hardware located on Highway 71 South closed for business last year with an uncertainty as what would happen to the building, and grounds that once operated as a “Mom & Pop” business.
Vintage Pointe Marketplace recently announced that it will utilize Hurts building as an “Open Concept Marketplace” where vendors divide their space to sell vintage, antique and repurposed items.
Owner, Kelly Hartless stated “We are very excited to be opening in Mansfield and have already received a great response from the residents, and surrounding communities. We think our location is a great spot to bring together our vendors with a large array of customers.”
Additionally, they are proactively looking to fill the 12,000sqft space with vendors for their location. If interested, you can contact them at (580) 352-2730 or (580) 304-5326, email [email protected], and their Facebook page.
