The Mansfield Sr Lady Tigers upgraded their conference record to 2-9 after Tuesday nights big win against the Greenland Lady Pirates. Ending the match with a final score of 36-24, it was just the kind of encouragement that the Lady Tigers needed to ignite that spark of determination to finish their season with a bang. “The senior Lady Tigers played well Tuesday night,” stated coach, Joshua Bryan. “We moved the ball better on offense and drove the lane more than in our previous few games.”

Sadie Roberts

“We did better in the rebounding department but we still allowed Greenland to have multiple second-chance opportunities, something we’ve been working on.” The Lady Tigers ended the evening with 13 steals with Danielle Lillie, Haylee Helms, and Sadie Roberts combining for nine of those. Offensively, Mansfield earned six rebounds with Amber Elmore netting three. And defensively, the Lady Tigers snagged 20 rebounds with Brooke Wright and Chloe Creekmore obtaining five rebounds each.

“I was excited by the play of the girls off the bench. They did well and accounted for three points, eight rebounds, four steals, two deflections and one blocked shot.”  Roberts and Wright led their team with ten points apiece followed by Lillie with nine, Creekmore with four, and Elmore with three. “The area I’m impressed with the most is our offensive post play. We are much improved from the beginning of the season in getting points from our fours and fives.” With conference play winding down for the Sr Lady Tigers, they will next take on the (6-5) West Fork Lady Tigers at home on Friday, February 7.
